The cybersecurity education toll bridge is broken.
For too long, our industry has operated on a model of aggressive gatekeeping. The critical tradecraft required to defend modern infrastructure is increasingly locked behind $8,000 certifications, expiring credentials, and paywalled theory that rarely survives contact with a live environment.
This model bleeds talent. We are actively turning away capable operators because they cannot afford the artificial toll bridge erected by legacy training monopolies.
At DaemonCore, we believe tactical knowledge must be open. The methodologies for malware analysis, memory forensics, exploit development, and network defense belong to the community. They should be accessible to anyone with the discipline to put in the work.
This is why the DaemonCore Academy curriculum is, and will always remain, completely free.
There are no subscriptions. There are no educational paywalls. You get 127 practical lessons and over 120 hours of full-spectrum engineering work unrestricted via the free Web Academy and Linux Edition.
How do we survive?
Transparency is paramount in security, and it applies to business models as well.
We monetize professional infrastructure and commercial software, not knowledge.
The Windows desktop edition of DaemonCore Academy is a $39 one-time purchase. This covers the native Windows software experience, distribution, integrated local capabilities (like sealed Docker ranges), and continued infrastructure support.
Purchasing Windows is optional. If you cannot afford it, you can still learn the material through the free Web or Linux editions. We are not putting the education behind a checkout screen.
Beyond the Academy, we build and sell DaemonCore FieldOps—a commercial, heavily audited operations suite—to enterprise red teams, SOCs, and professional consultants who require strict authorization bounding, campaign ledgers, and compliance-ready reporting. Enterprise budgets and Windows software sales fund our infrastructure.
Additionally, beginning in Q1 2027, we will launch the DaemonCore Instructor Control Plane for universities and enterprise training pipelines. While the web and Linux editions remain permanently free and the Windows edition is a simple one-time purchase, managing cohorts of students requires dedicated cloud compute, centralized progress telemetry, and multi-tenant management dashboards. We license this active infrastructure to institutions, which further subsidizes the accessibility of the community editions.
Stop paying for theory. Open the Web Academy, download Linux, or get the Windows Edition, and start executing.
